Following the death of their father in 2015, who suffered from Motor Neurone Disease, Neil and Carl Rutherford have presented 3 hugely successful West End Cast Charity Gala's, raising over £35,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Associations.

The most recent Gala in June 2023, at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage, featured a 36 piece professional orchestra, 30 students from MOUNTVIEW in the choir and a host of West End leading artists including 

HAYLEY TAMADDON (Dancing on Ice, Coronation Street, Grease, Spamalot, Chicago), NIALL SHEEHEY (Les Misérables, Ghost, Miss Saigon, Spamalot), KELLY PRICE (Guys and Dolls, Mamma Mia, Aspects of Love, Passion, A Little Night Music), NATHANIA ONG (Les Misérables, Be More Chill, Candide),

CHUMISA DORNFORD-MAY (Aspects of Love, The Addams Family, A Little Night MusicLes Misérables, ),

BEN CUTLER (War Horse, The Mousetrap) and OLIVER GORDON (Newsies, Mary Poppins, Les Misérables). There were also digital contributions from ELAINE PAIGE, JASON DONOVAN and JODIE PRENGER.

The Gala was conducted by SIMON BECK and NEIL RUTHERFORD,

and the orchestra was led by JONATHAN HILL

 

The gala featured hits from west end musicals and was a resounding success. The gala raised over £10,000 for MND Association and MND Scotland; many thanks to everyone involved and who contributed by buying tickets, sponsored the event and gave their services for free.
